IRCC accepts five language tests for economic immigration. Convert your listening, speaking, reading and writing results into Canadian Language Benchmarks (English) or NCLC (French) levels with IRCC's equivalency charts.

TEF Canada: Express Entry reads the “Équivalence ancien score” column of your results, whatever the test date. A test taken after 2023-12-10 also shows a score out of 699, with its own chart.

PGWP language requirement

Bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees and other university programs: CLB 7 or NCLC 7 in all four skills
College, polytechnic and other non-university programs: CLB 5 or NCLC 5 in all four skills
PGWP applications submitted before 2024-11-01 do not need to meet the language requirement
