Current streams

The Skilled Worker stream covers managers, professionals and skilled trades in TEER 0 to 3 jobs. The Health Authority stream covers health workers employed by a B.C. public health authority; it needs no registration and you apply directly. Both streams have an Express Entry BC (EEBC) option, which adds points to your federal Express Entry profile once nominated.

Requirements

  • Job offer: one full-time position (an average of at least 30 hours a week) with no end date; some listed occupations may use a fixed-term offer of at least one year. The employer must agree to support you before you register and sign an Employer Declaration Form.
  • Work experience: for Skilled Worker, at least 2 years of full-time or equivalent experience in TEER 0 to 3 work in the last 10 years, in Canada or abroad.
  • Language: TEER 2 and 3 jobs need CLB 4 in all four skills; for TEER 0 and 1 jobs a test is optional at registration but earns points. Results are valid two years from issue.
  • Education and qualifications: meet the minimum education, licence or registration for the occupation.
  • Wage: meet the minimum wage and income requirements.
  • Settlement funds: required only with the EEBC option, under IRCC's proof of funds rules.

These occupations cannot apply under any Skills Immigration stream: NOC 12100, 12101, 12200, 13100, 13110, 13111, 13112, 62010, 62020, 63101, 41302, 42204 (administrative assistants, HR officers, bookkeepers, retail and food service supervisors, real estate agents, religious occupations and others).

How invitations work

Skilled Worker candidates register online and receive a score out of 200; registrations stay in the pool for up to 12 months. BC PNP invites by the province's three priorities: Care (health, education, childcare, veterinary care), Build (9 construction trades) and Innovate (high economic impact, by wage or by score).

Closed streams

  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled (ELSS) is officially closed; the last invitations were issued on 2024-12-10.
  • BC PNP is not launching new student streams; education completed in B.C. or Canada still earns registration points.
  • The last technology priority draw was on 2024-12-03. Former technology occupations remain eligible and are invited through Innovate draws.
