Who it is for
Direct employees of a B.C. public health authority with a regular, indeterminate, full-time job offer in an eligible occupation. Physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives who are not direct employees may also apply with a health authority's support and a B.C. licence or eligibility for one; midwives may instead be supported by a midwife practice group.

- Any health occupation whose NOC code starts with 3
- Social workers (NOC 41300)
- Therapists in counselling and related specialized therapies (NOC 41301)
- Social and community service workers (NOC 42201)

Health authority support
Your health authority must agree to support you before you apply. Each authority has its own process and is not obliged to support any application; only its delegated signers may sign the Employer Declaration Form. B.C. has 8 public health authorities:
- Provincial Health Services Authority
- First Nations Health Authority
- Fraser Health
- Interior Health
- Island Health
- Northern Health
- Vancouver Coastal Health
- Providence Health Care

Other requirements
- Language: TEER 2 and 3 jobs need CLB 4 in all four skills; for TEER 0 and 1 jobs results are optional, and BC PNP may ask for them. Results are valid two years from issue.
- Qualifications: meet the education, training, experience and licensing the health authority requires.
- Income: family income meets the minimum set by wage, area of residence and number of dependants.
- Express Entry BC (EEBC) option: a valid Express Entry profile number and Job Seeker Validation Code.

Applying and fees
If you qualify, you apply directly in BC PNP Online, with no registration and no draw. The application fee of C$1,750 is paid on submission and refunded only if you withdraw before BC PNP starts its assessment. About 80% of applications are decided within 3 months. Once nominated, apply to IRCC for permanent residence before the Confirmation of Nomination expires.

A temporary initiative, now closed
The Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative was for health authority employees in cleaning or security roles in rural or remote communities, with up to 250 nominations. Registration closed on 2026-10-07.
